BAMT provides flexible and personalized training with a view to building each student’s skill base across all disciplines of musical theatre. We believe that the best training for success in the entertainment industry should be highly practical and unencumbered by written assignments and exams, which is why the base course remains non-accredited, to ensure maximum time is spent on building skills that matter. Students enjoy the option of electing to attain diploma qualifications in accompaniment to their BAMT training through Trinity College London. As opposed to qualifications that can be attained through VET at other institutions which are only recognised in Australia, qualifications attained at BAMT through Trinity College London are internationally recognised, which opens a doorway for our students to work on stages across the globe.
BAMT is the only training institution in Australia housed within a major performing arts venue (Hayward Street Theatre), which is also home to production companies like AVT LIVE, Arenavent Theatrical and Quid Pro Co, and renowned talent agency, Dare Artist Management. Students are afforded the opportunity to train in the same venue where some of Australia's biggest musical theatre stars are rehearsing, performing and managing their career, and the students regularly benefit from a range of formal and informal encounters with these luminaries.
While training at BAMT, students are represented through Dare Artist Management, which means they can be put forward for auditions for film, television and theatre projects. Part of the training at BAMT provides students with guidance in how to navigate external auditions, negotiations with agents and conduct themselves in a professional setting.
BAMT's Musical Theatre Course provides students with a doorway into the industry and with the skills required to succeed and thrive.
