PERFORMANCE COURSE

CORE TRAINING DAYS

9am to 5pm Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays

 

DURATION

The course runs for approximately 35 weeks, commencing early February and finishing in late November. 12 of these weeks will be performance weeks, with the remainder being rehearsal/training weeks.

BAMT's Full Time Performance Course is a one year course for students who have completed BAMT's Musical Theatre or Advanced Musical Theatre Course. This one year course provides students with the opportunity to continue their intensive training whilst also participating in three major productions throughout the year

The course allows students the chance to put their training into practice under the direction and guidance of experienced theatre practitioners, and to build their body of work whilst showcasing their skills to audiences, producers, directors, agents and members of the entertainment industry.  

For students who are serious about pursuing a career in the entertainment industry and putting their training into practice, BAMT's Performance Course is a must.

COURSE OUTLINE

Being a part of the Performance Course provides students with the opportunity to put their training into practice by taking part in three major productions across the one year course. As well as participating in the productions, students are given the opportunity to:

  • Be mentored by industry professionals.

  • Refine their performance skills in a nurturing environment under professional guidance

  • Work on audition pieces and audition techniques

  • See major theatre productions and go behind the scenes with exclusive Q&A sessions

  • Access exclusive opportunities and discounts to attend a range of theatrical and touring events

  • Be seen by agents, directors, producers and members of the entertainment industry

  • Meet, network and work with a range of key industry professionals, agents and casting directors from across Australia and overseas​

  • Be trained in professional industry practice through representation with Dare Artist Management for the duration of their time in the course. This allows students to be put forward for external auditions, and be guided through the process of submitting self tapes, attending auditions, and if successful in securing external work, handling the rigour of professional opportunities.

Students take part in a range of rehearsals and classes each week, as well as participating in 3 productions throughout the course. 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Applicants who have completed BAMT'S Musical Theatre Course or Advance Musical Theatre Course are eligible for entry into the Performance Course. Entry is via a 3 step process of written application, skills assessment and callback where applicants will have the opportunity to showcase their performance skills. Students are accepted into the course purely on the basis of talent and potential to succeed both in the course and within the industry. 

SKILLS ASSESSMENT

Admission is via skills assessment. Each application is assessed individually as there are a limited number of positions available. The initial assessment will take 3 hours and involve singing, acting and dance skills. Video submissions are only available upon application.

Performance Course

$10,500 per year - A $1,000 deposit is paid at time of acceptance. BAMT offers a number of payment arrangement options for the remainder of the course fees

Fees are subject to annual review.
