BAMT alumni start musical theatre company in Redlands

After graduating from the BAMT course, Shaun Kohlman and George Canham have passed on their love of musical theatre to young performers in the Redlands by starting up Rockit Productions.

Rockit creates opportunities for young artists in the Redlands to develop their skills by taking part in their high quality productions.

"Both Shaun and George have worked so hard to build up a now highly respected company in the Redlands," says Head of BAMT, Su Wilkinson. "We could not be more proud of what they have achieved and the way in which they have inspired so many young people to follow their dreams."

Shaun was part of the first intake of students into the BAMT course back in 2009. During his studies, he performed in BAMT's productions of URINETOWN and PRYDON PAIRS. Since graduating, he has starred in productions of THE WIZARD OF OZ, GREASE and BLOOD BROTHERS at QPAC and most recently he appeared in 35MM at the Hayward Street Studios.

George began training at BAMT in 2010, and since graduating has appeared in numerous Harvest Rain productions including OKLAHOMA!, HAIRSPRAY, GREASE and he choreographed the Matilda Award winning production of SPAMALOT at QPAC in 2014.

"It's great to see our graduates paying it forward" says producer and BAMT founder, Tim O'Connor. "Both Shaun and George used BAMT as a stepping stone into the industry, and now they're making a way to help other young performers follow in their footsteps. It's extraordinary, and I'm so glad to hear of the wonderful success they are enjoying. Well deserved!"

Keep up the good work, Shaun & George!
